Recently, I went to Kuala Lumpur with my family for a vacation.
We decided to watch a movie one day together, and that movie was The Devil Wears Prada 2.
During the movie, a lot of things stood out to me.
These people didn’t just have first world problems, they had problems of the ultra rich.
They had both fame and money.
Their houses were mansions.
They only cared about climbing to the top of the “social ladder”.
And it made me realise, hey, this is Satan’s world.
The devil’s world is cutthroat. You start out as nothing, and you have to do so much to rise to the top.
You have to be married by 30, the number in your bank account is your worth, you must look flawless even if you have to go through plastic surgery for it, you are always on a chase for more followers.
It’s a never-ending battle of always feeling inadequate, because you have to achieve so much just to be barely accepted.
And that made me think about how different God’s standards work.
It doesn’t matter if you’re unattractive in His world, or if you’re poor, or unknown.
God measures us by our love.
And anybody can love.
That beggar you met recently on the streets, the most famous influencer, the pastor from three hundred years ago that nobody remembers anymore….
Love is available to every kind of person. We all have the power to love.
God doesn’t force you to achieve beyond your ability, like the devil does.
His economy is based on grace, on unmerited favour.
When we get to that Day, the question won’t be:
How many numbers did your savings account have?
How many followers did you have?
How beautiful are you?
The question will be something everyone is qualified to answer:
How did you love?
God bless us all! Thanks for reading.
