Why is there suffering if God is loving?

Are you in a valley right now?

Are you in suffering, and don’t know why?

Do you also believe in God, and can’t understand why God would allow this?

And because you are suffering, it makes you doubt whether He even exists or not?

Why is there suffering is God is Love?

Let me help you.

God has a purpose for every moment of pain.

It might not seem like it at every instance of hurt, but God never allows us to suffer meaninglessly.

We often wonder why a loving God who allow His children to hurt, and sometimes we lose faith in Him because of it.

The truth is, life hurts all the time, and it is filled with valleys.

But it is only because the valleys exist that the mountains exist too.

Without the low points in our life, we will never be able to say later that God has blessed us richly.

For a long time, I floundered in the darkness, and death felt like the answer to all my problems.

It made me doubt that He existed, and that I was all alone in this despair.

But He delivered me from one hurdle, and I was glad.

But another hurdle popped up.

I despaired again, but He also delivered me from it in the end.

As time went on, those hurdles became like waves, and each one was taller than the one behind it that was on the way.

I searched for the fear within me to overwhelm me, but I couldn’t find that fear anymore.

The tall waves didn’t seem so great anymore, because I had come to understand that my God was greater.

Yes, God did allow suffering.

Yes, you are in a valley because He allowed it.

You hurt and cry because pain exists.

But what a lot of children of God do not realise is that while God has decreed that pain should exist, He has also decreed that pain should only exist for now.

Every kind of pain has an expiry date.

One day, God will wipe away every tear from our eyes.

Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.ā€”

And fill all the valleys.

Luke 3:5 “Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;”

One day, He will take away all your pain.

Jesus went through the same valleys, and we have the confidence that He emerged victorious.

Knowing the pain He went through for our sake in that valley during that night in the garden of Gethsemane really has a way of making our sorrows so sweet.

Because we know we have a Captain that knows the way around in all the valleys.

So take heart, my beloved friend in Christ.

Jesus is Immanuel – God with us.

Have a great day and may God answer your prayers.
