Why Did God Give Us The Ability To Forget?

Have you ever received an answer from God, and it made you thrilled.

But then you sit down and you recall the past.

And realise this was something God already taught you before, but you forgot.

Some embarrassment creeps into you, and you start to feel sorry for God for having to put up with you.

Well, I am here to tell you that God created you the way you are, with the ability to forget things.

You might ask why?

Why does God want to teach us humans the same things over and over again?

Doesn’t He ever feel exhausted by it?

Let me show you a verse.

Leviticus 6:13 (New International Version)

13 The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.

The reason why God gave us the ability to forget is so that we come back to Him and His Word repeatedly throughout our lives.

Just like the fire at the altar must not go out, our fervour for the Lord should never go out.

We are temples of God, and we must continually offer sacrifices to God.

We forget, so we keep having to remind ourselves of the goodness of God.

We forget to always remember again that God is good.

God be with you!
